Dr. Dahyeon Kim is a postdoctoral fellow in clinical psychology. Dahyeon has a longstanding interest in creating healthy healthcare systems and training environments.

In this episode, she shares her experiences as a clinical psychology trainee and Korean American woman navigating the U.S. healthcare system. She reflects on interactions with supervisors and shares the strategies that have helped her successfully negotiate challenging situations in cross-racial supervisory relationships.

She also shares how supervisors who prioritize building an open relationship with trainees that promotes safety and welcomes trainee feedback can negotiate their race-based blind spots without damaging their supervisory relationships.
